Application Template. Empty
PostSubject: Application Template.   Application Template. EmptyThu Dec 04, 2008 2:23 am

We're always considering applications from exceptional individuals* of ALL CLASSES. Of course, do not bother applying unless you're already level 80 and decently geared to raid 25 man instances.

* By exceptional individual we mean someone striking us for the way he'll write his application, his gear and his experience with the game. You are free and encouraged to drop off an application anyway, especially if you think of yourself as an exceptional player which could be a nice addition to our roster. Every application will be taken into consideration.

General Overview of the guild:

Raids and Raiding Schedule:

We currently raid every-day except friday and saturday, from approximately 20:00 to 24:00 CEST (Central Europe Summer Time, aka server time).

Lemniscate and you:

What do we want from our initiates? First of all we can tell you that we don't want loot hungry dummies coming along for phat epix, we want dedicated and experienced players interested in progressing in the game content.

You MUST know how to play your class in a raid environment, in order for the raid to progress through content. We are not going to teach you how to raid; we assume you know that already and that you are willing to show it constantly. We also want you to have long-term plans with World of Warcraft. When we recruit someone, we would like not to have to recruit someone else to take his place after two months.

You MUST be active. We're not recruiting part-timers raiders or casual players. We don't Expect 100% activity from our members, of course (it won't hurt to have), but especially during your trial period you are expected to be available for most of our raids. If you know you can't be there for most of our raid schedule, just don't apply.

This of course means also that you must be prepared and have a positive attitude for when we'll face raining days (aka wipe sessions), and since frontier raiding is a never ending learning process, we expect you to be open minded when it comes to constructive criticism and to be judged by others on your performance.
You must be ready to follow orders as you're instructed to. Our tactics and ideas may sometimes be wrong, but if you don't do what you're told to we won't be able to notice what went wrong. This includes your raiding talent spec. And, of course, an officer's word on any raid or guild related matters is final. Guilds aren't a Democracy. This guild makes no exception. If you have a problem about an officer's decision, please talk it out privately with another officer, not in open chats.

Lemniscate is an international guild with people all over Europe. For this reason you must be able to understand and express yourself in proper English. This applies both to written form (in-game chat) and to spoken form (Ventrilo). In a guild environment like ours you can expect to see jokes and puns, and, should you pass your trial period and become a member, you will probably find yourself being the target of one of those jokes, or the one making it. For this reason, you don't have to be a touchy twat, and you must understand that there's always a moment to joke and laugh and a moment for staying silent. You won't get judged, during your trial, only for your raiding skills, but also for your integration within the guild and the team spirit. In short: we want Lemniscate to become like a second family for you and you to become a member of that family.

Other stuff:

You need to be prepared for every raid with your own consumables necessary for the given encounter.

You need to already own an equipment decent enough in our eyes to allow yourself to participate to our current raids without being a hindrance. At our current progression level, this means having mostly T8.5 gear or better. We don't have time at the moment to gear up our recruits from scratch.

You are expected to have a technical equipment (read: Hardware and Connection) allowing you to raid properly at full of your capabilities without being slowed down by it ot worst being a hindrance for the raid. Hamster-powered PCs or Smoke-Signals Internet will probably cause you to fail your trial.

You need to read and understand our Application FAQ. You can find it at the following URL:

How to apply:

To apply to Lemniscate, please use the template you'll find at the end of this post and after you are done PM it to Squeeshy or post it on this forum.

For any other question not answered in this post or in the FAQ, please feel free to contact one of our officers in game or on the Forums Prinsn, Squeeshy or Rustycow.

Application Form:

Remember that the way you write your own application is part of what must struck us and convince us you're the right addition to our guild. All fields and answers are to be considered required unless otherwise specified. If Armory doesn't work, put the link there anyway, or use another profiler. Please logout, if applying, in your PvE gear.

Dear potential applicant:

Please take the time to copy and fill out the application form below. There are no right or wrong answers to these questions but try to answer as honestly as you can. This is your chance to make a good first impression so make it count.

Try to be as thorough as you can as I can assure you that an application that has clearly had little time and effort put into it will take us even less time and effort to simply decline.
